This policy explains what personal data The Junction collects through thejunctiondubai.com, why we collect it, how we protect it and the choices you have. We process personal data in line with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data.

Who we are

The Junction is a performing arts venue at Unit H72, Alserkal Avenue, Al Quoz, Dubai, operated by Theatre Junction Events LLC ("The Junction", "we", "us"). We are responsible for the personal data described in this policy.

What we collect

We only collect what we need for the purpose you are using our site for.

Contact and venue hire enquiries: your name, email address, phone number, organization and the details of your enquiry.
Newsletter: your name, email address, phone number and your preferences.
Workshop enrolment: the participant's name, email address, phone number and age, so we can place them in the right group number and your preferences.
Automatically: basic technical information such as your device, browser, pages visited and approximate location, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Cookies below).

Tickets: tickets for shows at The Junction are sold by licensed ticketing partners such as Platinumlist. When you buy a ticket, the ticketing partner collects and processes your details under its own privacy policy. We may receive attendee information from the partner or the show's organizer where needed to run the event.

Children

Some of our workshops are for people under 18. For participants under 18, enrolment must be completed by a parent or legal guardian, who gives consent on the child's behalf. We collect only what is needed to run the workshop safely. If you believe a child has given us personal data without a parent's or guardian's consent, contact us and we will delete it.

How we use your data

To reply to your enquiries and manage venue hire bookings
To run workshops, including contacting participants or their parents or guardians
To send our newsletter, only if you have subscribed
To understand how our website is used and improve it
To keep our venue, website and audiences safe, and to meet our legal obligations

We process your data with your consent, to take steps you ask for (such as a hire booking), or where the law requires or allows it. You can withdraw consent at any time; this does not affect processing that already took place.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with:

Service providers who run our website, forms and email on our behalf, such as our website platform Wix. They may only use your data to provide their service to us.
Ticketing partners and show organizers, where needed to deliver an event you are attending or a booking you made.
Authorities, when the law requires it.

Data stored outside the UAE

Some of our service providers store data on servers outside the UAE. When this happens, we rely on providers that apply appropriate safeguards to protect your data.

Photography and filming at The Junction

Performances, workshops and events at The Junction may be photographed or filmed by our team or by the show's production. Audience members may appear in these images, which we may use on our website and social media. If you do not want to appear, tell our front-of-house team on arrival, or contact us afterwards to ask for an image of you to be removed.

How long we keep it

We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, or as long as the law requires. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe.

How we protect it

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data from loss, misuse and unauthorized access, and limit access to the people who need it. No online transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

Tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy
Correct data that is wrong or incomplete
Delete your data, or limit how we use it
Stop sending you marketing, at any time (every newsletter also has an unsubscribe link)
Withdraw any consent you have given
